The competition in every exam has reached an altogether new level with the coaching industry booming up and, so it becomes necessary to make a wise choice of books to utilise your time maximally.
Best Books To Prepare for CLAT 2018

I will write the books I used. Note that I mostly relied on books and self-study and so, I literally had a library of books with me. You are definitely not expected to purchase them all.

Quantitative Aptitude (Mathematics):
This section aims to check candidate’s knowledge of elementary mathematics, i.e., maths taught up to 10th Class/Standard. Quantitative Aptitude or Numerical ability is an important part of CLAT exam as it weight age is 20 marks out of total 200 marks.
You can score good marks in less time with proper practice and tricks. We should recommend you to buy Class Notes Of Math, which are available in both for English and Hindi medium candidates.

Best Books For Numerical ability-
We recommend you to chose any single below mentioned books + learn tricks from Class Notes Of Maths (Link provided above).
  • Quantitative Aptitude by R S Aggarwal (This is the best book for Quantitative aptitude practice purpose. You can also check review.)
  • Arihant’s Fast Track Objective Arithmetic (Check Review for Fast Track book. Both Aggarwal and Arihant books are okay for the need to practice. You can choose one between them.)
  • Magical Book On Quicker Maths (Helpful to learn fundamentals and short tricks)
  • Class Notes by Rakesh Yadav (This is one of the best-handwritten notes for Quantitative aptitude which you can download E-Book or also buy online.)

General English: The English section aims to test the candidate's proficiency in English based on comprehension passages, grammar and word power.
In the comprehension section, candidates will be assessed on their understanding of the passage and its main theme, sense of words used in sentence or passage, etc. The grammar section requires correction of incorrect grammatical sentences, filling the blanks in sentences with suitable words, etc.

There are two good exam-oriented English books which adequately cover different types of questions. Choose anyone, and you are ready to go —
  • Objective General English by S P Bakshi (Arihant)
  • Quick Learning Objective General English by RS Aggarwal
  • High School English Grammar and Composition by Wren and Martin (An excellent book for Grammar revision. If you are not good at grammar this book will help you.)

5 Tips to be Exceptional in Physics

goCareer     13:01     AIPMT, iit, iit-advance, IIT-jee, physics, preparation-tips     No comments

The subject of physics is full of wonders and plays a major role in shaping the future of civilization. The subject deals with nature, energy, matter and their mutual interactions. Physics is considered one of the most interesting subjects by several students of varying age groups.

5 Tips to be Exceptional in Physics

The concepts in physics cannot be grasped in a jiffy and require a thorough understanding and in-depth knowledge of the basics. So, it is important for a student to get immersed in the subject and slowly develop an interest in the related concepts.

Here 5 most important tips are given to help the students get engaged and be exceptional in the subject.

Get Thorough with the Basics:
The subject of physics includes some basic concepts and laws which are extremely important to understand the higher level theories and topics. For example, the topics like thermodynamics are vast and it gets complicated if one is not through with the basic laws governing thermodynamics.

So, it is suggested to pay attention to the basics before trying to learn higher level questions. Getting through with the basics also benefits the students to easily grasp the derived laws and formulas.

Give Importance to the Derivations:
Most of the complex equations and formulas in physics are derived from some basic relations of the related quantities. Sometimes, simple formulas are modified and used in certain situations. So, students are advised to get through with the basic derivations to be able to understand higher level concepts easily and effectively.

Improve Mathematical Skills:
The problems in physics mostly revolve around the mathematical fundamentals. Most of the questions including kinematics, laws of motions, etc. require the students to have a proper mathematical foundation to be able to solve them.

In higher grades, mathematical topics like calculus and trigonometry are widely used to understand and solve the physics problems. So, it can be said that to be exceptional in physics, one must also be exceptional in mathematics.

Learn to Draw Proper Diagrams:
In physics, representation of quantities through diagrams is extremely crucial. It is considered that the students who can interpret the questions correctly and represent the quantities as diagrams have better knowledge of the fundamentals.

By drawing diagrams, solving the questions also becomes easier. For example, solving the kinematics questions become very easy if the free body diagram is made and the forces acting on the body are represented accurately.

Relate and Simplify:
Physics is a subject that relates to the environment and surroundings. All the topics involve physical quantities and their interactions. So, it is suggested to avoid mugging the concepts and learn them by relating to the surroundings. Topics like the electric current, laws of motion, etc. becomes relatable and simple if they are associated with everyday life.

For example, while studying electric current and power consumption, the students can associate the concepts with their home and understand the practical relevance of the terms used in the concepts.

With these crucial tips, almost any student can easily be exceptional in physics and develop an interest in the subject. The subject of physics can be extremely interesting and engaging if students completely immerse themselves in learning the concepts.

Trigonometry Formula Memorization Trick

goCareer     22:09     engineering-exams, iit, iit-advance, IIT-jee, mathematics, trignometry     No comments

What is Trigonometry?
It is the branch of Mathematics, which deals with the sides, angles, triangle, and distances. The study of the relationships between distances and the angles are termed as Trigonometry. The term Trigonometry was derived from Greek word meaning measurements of triangles. It is an applied mathematics, which is used to calculate the angles and sides of a given triangle. The Greek astronomer and mathematician Hipparchus is known as a father of Trigonometry as he was the first person to create the Trigonometric table.

Trigonometry Formula Memorization Trick

The trigonometric application is widely used in several fields including engineering, science, astronomy and more. Common formulas mainly used here are- Law of Cosines, Law of tangents and Euler's formula. It is quite difficult to memorize the formulae but we can crack it.
Many of us have faced the difficulties in memorizing Trigonometric Formulae. Even after attending regular classes and tuitions, we are unable to recollect the theorems, identities, and formulas.
As the subject solely depends upon the analytical, practical and logical sense of the people, some find it easy and intriguing while others find it a bit strenuous. While some students may have a natural affinity towards the subject, others simply eschew from it because of their disinterest due to lack of proper understanding of the subject.

Most of the educational boards like CBSE, ICSE, etc. have a systematic approach towards the science subjects to let the students build up a stronger base for the concepts and appreciate the subject truly. Still, there are some students who could not keep up with the pace and end up detesting the subject. So, in this article, a few tips are given to help students do better in science and develop a fondness for the subject.

A subject built from multiple theoretical and practical concepts cannot be mastered without building a proper foundation for it. So, it is advised that the students also start learning the basic concepts rather than only referring to Ncert solutions or school textbooks.

Have you ever tried to mug up the formulas hours together?
Never do this, instead of the mug up, try to understand the formulae, put down on papers, substitute the same formula and theorem with different questions.

Here are some important tricks to memorize Trigonometry formulas:
● Be through with basic Trigonometric Formulae – sin, cos cot, cosec, sec, tan and more.
● Try to learn as many formulae as possible and find some shortcuts.
● Practice more problems and write more and more formulas.
● Solve problem regularly, through problem-solving, we can easily memorize formulas.
● Always try to learn formulas in the simplest and easiest way. Never get confused or complicate the problems.
● Write all the formulas, which you need to know and memorize in a sheet of paper.
● Make a daily routine of solving problems.
● Try to solve different questions on the same formulas.
● Purchase DVDs and other online Trigonometry courses available in the market. These videos help in easily remember the formulae for different angles.
● The best and fastest way to learn and remember the formulae is by creating the trigonometric ratio table.
● First and the last trick is to understand the basic formulae and try to imagine the problems in your own way.
● Trigonometric formulas are quite difficult but nothing is impossible. There are many more techniques, which can make the formula easier. The best trick is working on more problems. Once we are perfect with this formulas, we can remember them throughout our life.
